For four decades we have been celebrating our existence and achievements on the 3rd of December. Here is my simple but heartfelt contribution to 2020.
Strength grows best on stone.
Its young roots clinging to life,
waiting for the flood.
It takes real strength for many of us to survive and we should all take pride in the fact that we are here.
To celebrate this day and the strength of friendship, shaped by our experiences as disabled women, I have also published a new poem with my best friend and artist, Tanya Raabe. Our new collaboration, ‘On Cromer Pier’ can be found here https://poeticpalettes.wordpress.com/2020/12/02/on-cromer-pier/
